History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Dorp was lightly populated in the 700s by colonists escaping from the constant international tension on nearby Bourj (Old Expanses 2413).
- The population grew slowly and was quite content with the world. However, in 1095 astronomers detected the first signs of instability in the star. The inhabitants were evacuated by the Scout Service and various merchant interests, leaving only a crew of astronomers in a jump capable vessel, specially equipped to house them for years. They intend to observe the star until the last possible moment, gathering data not obtainable from a distance, and then jump clear.
- The refugees were taken to Khar (Old Expanses 2416), where they are assimilating nicely.
Imperial High (Landed) Nobility[edit]
Dorp, as a member world of the Third Imperium has a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Dorp has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
Note that these facilities are abandoned, as the population has relocated to Khar.
