Cruachan is a fluid world with an oceanic geography of a liquid other than water such as ammonia, methane, hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquids. The system supports a population of fewer than 10,000 sophonts. This is a high technology world with available technology over the standards for Charted Space. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Khandi Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Cruachan, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world. During the Long Night this world was named Kharkhi.

Mainworld Data[edit]

Cruachan is often described as twin to Iesha (Dagudashaag 1712).

History and Background[edit]

This beautiful water world, with its twin red suns, has now become a popular tourist destination for the rich of Khandi. There are a half dozen new hotels scattered on the small island chains. Most are perched on top of high mountains or extinct volcanoes, above the choking dense lower atmosphere. Aerial flights and submersible cruises are popular means of taking in the sights. The starport has recently been upgraded to cope with the increase in visitors, and the influx of mineral processing companies who are beginning to survey the oceans.

World Starport (Sp)[edit]

Cruachan has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
