Caprice (SR 3035) is a high-population, pre-rich garden world with a billion or more sophonts in population size, and a near-ideal utopian environment conducive to most sophonts, but still lacks adequate population to expand its economy to a rich status.

  • Its economy and population are rapidly growing and living conditions are expected to quickly rise barring outside forces.
  • It is a member of the Solomani Confederation in the Kukulkan Subsector of Solomani Rim Sector.
  • This world is a "Twilight Zone World", a planet that is tidally-locked to its star. It has a hot side that permanently faces the star, a cold side that permanently faces away, and a narrow twilight zone in-between.
  • This world has a Naval Base, usually associated with military starships.
  • This world has a Military Base, usually associated with military ground forces.

Description (Planetology)[edit]

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Caprice (SR 3035) is an important, high-population, Terran Norm garden world.

Caprice originally had a democratic government, which strongly supported Solomani resistance to the Imperium. After the Solomani Rim War, domestic unrest led to a revolt and installation of a hereditary dictatorship, with rulers now descended from the fabled Admiral John Saarinen.

World Starport (Sp)[edit]

Caprice has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

  • There is an associated Solomani Confederation Naval Base.

World Population (P)[edit]

Caprice has a population of 8,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).

World Government (G)[edit]

Caprice is governed by a Charismatic Dictatorship. Charismatic governments justify their ability to rule by simply asserting their right to rule. Charismatic dictatorships are typically young governments, coming as a recent change, and rely on the leader(s) to supply head of government.
