Native Lifeforms[edit]
The short but severe seasons of Caenard have caused native flora and fauna to adapt by hibernating; either in the winter or summer months, depending on ecological niche. Migrating species are rare but two entirely different sets of creatures occupy a region during different times of the year. The 'Crazy Time' near the equinoxes results in vicious battles as two sets of territorial species compete.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Caenard was first settled in -1497.
Caenard is the most hospitable relay world between Corella and Karelian. Tensions with the Eslyat Magistracy have changed Caenard from a backwater to a bastion with the construction of a naval base, situated just three parsecs from the Eslyat homeworld.
World Starport[edit]
Caenard has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

Almost all residents are humans of Solomani descent.

The common language is "Corellan Galanglic", a distinct dialect of Anglic.
World Government (G)[edit]
Caenard is governed by an Impersonal Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy dictates government policy and its execution. Government leadership is reduced to little more than figureheads and does not select the bureaucracy leadership or its members.
As a full member of the Corellan League, Caenard sends two representatives to the League Assembly, which convenes aboard the Capital Orbital habitat, a station in geosynchronous orbit above Corella.
World Law (L)[edit]
Caenard has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (outside private residences or visiting starships).
