History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

The C-47 Gooney Bird class Light VTOL Scout Planes are essentially the same plane as the Valiant class VTOL Recon Scout Planes with a different payload package and mission. They don't support a sensor package beyond the mark 1 eyeball to execute their scout role. Cathy's Crusaders wanted twenty minimalistic transports to move small numbers of berserkers into position. The four berserker passengers often carry parachutes to jump from these, sometimes they fast rope down. They also like to use their four LMGs, unstabilized, in self defense to strafe from the open side doors. They first saw combat in her inaugural mercenary ticket for use on Aramanx/Aramis (Spinward Marches 3005). Rumor is she plans to acquire another as soon as finances permit. These were designed for a mercenary Dream Ticket, to be built with money provided upfront by Sternmetal Horizons an interested megacorporation. The total unit budget was MCr30. They are envisioned to be barebones. Pilots often request crew helmets with integral LI goggles for night ops. Their avionics allow them to fly ingress and egress in a low profile nape of earth mode.
