The Aramais Trust is an organization that buys old personality recordings.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

Prior to leaving the Spinward Marches in 1125 in a vainglorious attempt to meet with Lucan and promote peace, Aramais P. Lee created a long-term Trust to benefit his much younger wife and child. The Aramais Trust holds the last known wafer recording Aramais’ personality and memories, a wafer sent back to Regina when his Sharurshid-owned Kinunir-class vessel left Corridor. The Aramais Wafer (...and its two back-up copies) is of an unusual configuration; it allows a personality/memory overlay, but does not fully subordinate the user’s memory or personality. The effect is at best unpleasant for the user, and has been known to cause serious mental health issues for some. The Trustee, who must be a direct descendant of Lee, is the only person allowed to access the memories and personality. The implanted memories and personalities fade within thirty (30) days of each use.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

The Aramais Trust is devoted to keeping and obtaining data on Charted Space. As of 1900, it buys wafers located from old Life Insurance repositories, as well as the verifiable genetic material of the recorded individuals. A few clones are restored each year from various prior eras. The Relicts are interviewed extensively, then offered a citizenship within the Republic and a subsistence stipend, allowing them to live on Regina or another world. The Trust employs most of these relicts in various capacities.
