Aerrkhukhkaekouguengdoung is a nonindustrial world, that requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.

  • In a technological universe, societies without industrial capability generally suffer as nearly all manufactured and high tech goods must be brought in at significant cost.
  • As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
  • It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by Vargr sophonts located in the Uthe Subsector of Gvurrdon Sector.

System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Aerrkhukhkaekouguengdoung has an extensive hydrosphere, almost qualifying as a Water World.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Aerrkhukhkaekouguengdoung-1 is a small ocean-dominated world. The surface is covered by vast equatorial seas and storm-wracked archipelagos, with less than 10% dry landmass. The breathable but tainted atmosphere requires filter masks outdoors due to persistent airborne irritants and trace toxins.

The world's population of roughly 7 million lives in a mix of domed cities, floating platforms, and arcologies clustered on the few stable landmasses. Many settlements are corporate-owned or directly managed by Imperial or Gzogzu contract administrators.

Tensions simmer beneath the surface. While the population enjoys TL–9 comforts, many chafe under foreign control and trade exploitation. A local underground resistance may be active.

World Starport (Sp)[edit]

Aerrkhukhkaekouguengdoung has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

  • Vargr starports reflect the variety of Vargr architecture, with many disparate styles of building, each having their own unique ornamentation and gaudy colour scheme, and all competing for the attention of the onlooker. Emblems for the major shipping lines and port facilities abound.
  • Traffic through the port consists of regular tramp freighter runs and scout patrols.

World Population (P)[edit]

Aerrkhukhkaekouguengdoung has a population of 7,000,000 sophonts (millions).

  • This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
  • The population almost entirely consists of Vargr.

Linguistic Topography[edit]

The most widely spoken language is a form of Gvegh.

World Government (G)[edit]

Aerrkhukhkaekouguengdoung has a Captive Government or Colony. The world is ruled by an external government, there is no self-rule. This is a colony or conquered area. The local government is an oligarchy appointed by, and answerable only to, the external government.

Governance of this world is ultimately from Gzogzu. The world is governed through a puppet regime directed by several corsair captains, who maintain order and ensure alignment with offworld interests.

World Law Level (L)[edit]

Aerrkhukhkaekouguengdoung has a low law level. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate. Machine guns, other automatic weapons, portable energy weapons, and other military weapons, body pistols, explosives, and poison gas are typically regulated or prohibited.

Personal sidearms and concealed weapons are permitted, but military-grade equipment is illegal for civilians.

World Technology Level (TL)[edit]

Aerrkhukhkaekouguengdoung possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
    • Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
    • Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
    • Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
    • FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.

World Economy[edit]

Key Industries:

  • Undersea mineral and gas extraction
  • Water purification technology
  • Offworld processing of rare biological samples

Imports: Processed food, electronics, cultural materials

Exports: Exotic organic compounds, deep-sea ores, purified water
