Aakhia is a low-population, nonindustrial world with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts in size.
- As a nonindustrial world, It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
- This is a cold world with an overall climate that is at the lower temperature range of human-congruous sophont endurance.
- This die back world was once settled and developed, but the inhabitants have either died off or left, leaving behind the ruins and remnants of their civilization.
- This is a "low technology" world with technology competencies well below standard for Charted Space.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by Aslan sophonts located in the Kyahiyleakhaw Subsector of Touchstone Sector.
- It is possibly the homeworld of the Aakho, a sophont species and minor race.
- Aakhia is one of various names for this system, none of which make it into standard Imperial databases; Imperials know it only as Q-464-X.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Mainworld Data[edit]
The world's very thin atmosphere ensures that temperatures drop very low at night and begin to rise as soon as daylight begins. Most of the water is frozen, but the top layer melts every day and refreezes at night, creating a dense fog during daylight hours. Every surface is wet and slippery with condensation during the day and covered in ice within seconds at night.
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Within the semi-frozen slurry live hardy animals, including species that resemble reptiles. They feed on land at night, returning to the water when it melts at dawn.
Native Sophont (NIL): Aakho[edit]
According to some sources, this is the original homeworld of the nomadic Aakho, hence the name "Aakhia". This has not been confirmed by the IISS.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
A handful of small scientific and mining outposts were set up here over the years, most of them quickly withdrawn. It is thought that the world has large mineral reserves and might make a good industrial site with sufficient investment. For now, however, it is an undeveloped wasteland.
