Starships are designed with the Classic Traveller format, using High Guard Shipyard v1.13 written by Andrea Vallance. |
The Harbinger class Medium Cruiser is a light warship.
- It is a military ship and a Light Cruiser.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
Disappointing as a main fleet element, these Cruisers never lived up to the name. Lacking fighters and marines it never had the multi-role capabilities to carry out the variety of missions typical cruisers are asked to perform. The ridiculous Jump-1 drives made strategic mobility an afterthought. The 6G pursuit acceleration and agility would not disgrace more modern designs but, the hull metal armor cladding was not great. It did carry redundant screen generators and a backup computer system which allowed it to sustain some critical hits and stay in the fight. The bright spot was in the weapon load, it carried the largest particle accelerator spinal mount available at the time. This monster combined with its missile load could cripple enemy ships.

Basic Ship Characteristics[edit]
Following the Imperial Navy and IISS Universal Ship Profile and data, additional information is presented in the format shown here. The small craft factor indicates the number of squadrons (...of ten subcraft) carried on the ship. Tonnage on the universal ship profile is shown in kilotons (...thousands of tons) where necessary.
