The Sunderland class heavy frigates are the follow up to the successful Forfar class, and are the most numerous heavy frigates in the Caledonian screening force.

History[edit]

While the Forfars were successful, commanders and crews called for upgrades in the units' sensor fit and fire control systems, as well as better layout of the defensive batteries.
