Lemkhi is a vacuum world, lacking any atmosphere or surface water. The system has a population in the millions of sophonts, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. This world is designated an Amber Zone with an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that make it dangerous to visitors. This is a high technology world with available technology over the standards for Charted Space. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Iiradu Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Lemkhi, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world. The system supports both an Imperial Naval Base and a Scout Base with the additional starship traffic. During the Long Night this world was named Guud.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Lemkhi is a member of the Iiradu Trace. The naval base hosts elements of the 187th Fleet.

Lemkhi has two stars in the star system.

History and Background[edit]

The barren world of Lemkhi is more than just a research base, it houses the Lemkhi Imperial University of Space Sciences.

World Starport[edit]

Lemkhi has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Lemkhi has a population of 8,000,000 sophonts (millions).

  • This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.

Urbanization[edit]

There are five main campuses, each linked by a subrail system. The main starport is at Illusheke, the capital and largest university campus. It is located at the rotational north pole of the world. The other four campuses, Rupake, Ionaa, Surashil, and Vaaidhiri, are almost equidistant around the equator.

World Law Level[edit]

Because of the wide variety of scientific devices in the surrounding space and the need to prevent disruption of observations and measurements, the space lanes around Lemkhi are very strict. Ships failing to follow instructions may suffer exceptionally heavy fines or be impounded. The Amber Zone for the system comes from the University's strict and aggressive enforcement policies.

World Culture[edit]

The dominating effect of the university means most of the population is fairly casual and laid-back about life. University members are always ready to welcome outsiders.

World Infrastructure[edit]

Most of the habitable areas on Lemkhi are dug into the surface of the planet, rather than domes on the surface. There are several buildings on the surface, mainly astronomical observatories and other sensor and communications equipment.
