The Peacekeeper class Supersonic Bomber is a combatant Aircraft.

Description (Specifications)

Peacekeeper class Supersonic Bomber (TECH LEVEL 10) used by a mercenary Condotterie company called Pam's Peacekeepers: The vehicle has a crew of 2, a pilot, co-pilot in complex cockpits with advanced ejection seats, with computer enhanced controls in a low-drag supersonic airframe. It can carry 1 ton of bombs internally in a dedicated bomb bay. It carries six 3kg capacity launch rails for Mite homing TAC missiles for air to air or air to ground targets.

Basic Vehicle Characteristics

Vehicle volume: loaded combat ready 240m3, with wings removed for transport loaded 80m3.
Total mass: empty: 4 tons loaded: 5 tons.
Production Cost: Cr. 1,172,137.682
Movement:
Empty Maximum 1,905kph/1,587cm, Cruise 1,428kph/1,190cm, Minimum 280kph/233cm.
Loaded Maximum 1,590kph/1,325cm, Cruise 1,192kph/993cm.
Movement effect on fire: None
Damage Points: 40 empty, 50 loaded.
Agility: empty 25/loaded 21
Turns: empty/loaded 75o
Equipment: extensive ECM, the pilot has on-demand thermal vision integral to their flight helmet, 5 power terrain following RADAR, and a 1,000 power radio.
Power: The supersonic airframe mounts 0.2MW high performance turbofan power plant producing 7 tons of thrust and consuming 2.4 liters of fuel per hour, internal fuel capacity 305.2 liters, enough for 127 hours or 5 days. Thrust to weight produce 1.75G's empty and 1.4G’s loaded. Range: loaded 151,384km on internal fuel.
Weapons:
There is a stabilized air-cooled laser rifle in a ventral targeting pod under the nose. This laser can be used for target designating the cluster bombs. It can engage a single target, and has a battery for 100 shots. Its direct fire characteristics are:
Effective Long Extreme
18(9) 36(4) 180(1)
There is a 1 ton internal bomb bay. The typical load is (4) 250kg laser guided iron bombs with 30cm CBM warheads 21/9 +12DM. They cost Cr 2,850 each and a full load of (4) (+1 ton) is included in the plane's price.
There are six 3kg capacity TAC missile launch rails. There is no on-board guidance provided. The Mite class missiles have a homing guidance package. They mount 7cm HEAP 34 warheads, ill suited for the air-to-air role, but ideal for anti-tank work. The missiles cost Cr304.5 each and have a 1km range. Six missiles are included in the price.
Maintenance:
Vehicle: 12

History & Background (Dossier)

An initial order of three custom proto-type Peacekeeper class Supersonic Bombers planes was made. Pam felt she needed a stealthy weapon platform to handle ideologically resistant fanatics who refused to see reason. The first saw combat in her inaugural mercenary ticket for use on Aramanx/Aramis (Spinward Marches 3005). The mark 2 version saw the addition of six short range Mite TAC missiles for close self defense versus airborne targets. Rumor is he plans to acquire another as soon as finances permit. These were designed for a mercenary Dream Ticket, to be built with money provided upfront by Sternmetal Horizons an interested megacorporation. The total unit budget was MCr30. They are envisioned to be barebones, just large enough to carry the weapons payload, at a speed fast enough to outrun any indigenous air craft. The extensive ECM makes it difficult to target with native RADAR, they can fly in a low profile terrain following attack mode. Skilled forward observers are required to coordinate these planes for close air support.
