History & Background (Dossier)
There are currently ten of these vessels in service with the Glorious Leader's Benevolent Patrol Flotilla. Designed and built at Urcor for the Worlds of The Leader, these ships primarily operate within the Krayal Trace. Ten in service.
A Yono class scout is thought to have fired upon and destroyed an enemy corvette, according to some investigators. The burns and hull damage is consistent with the power output of the Urcor-manufactured CHT-02D pulse lasers. Substantial wreckage of the enemy vessel was recovered. The target allegedly exploded after sustained lasing, with hull ruptures 6 to 9 meters in length which seem to indicate explosive decompression of a vessel caught unaware.
High ranking military officials denounced the interplanetary investigation and said the Leader does not have the type of weapons that supposedly carried out the attack. They also dismissed claims regarding writings on the numbers of these weapons in fleet use. Sources site delivery records which state enough of these lasers to equip ten scouts have been confirmed. Enemy officials have been unavailable for comment.
A member of the government who defected said that the crew of the Scout which attacked the Corvette had been honored by the Leader. The defector, known by an alias, stated that the captain, co-captain, engineer, and gunner of the scout had been awarded "Hero of the Patrol" during a patriotic parade.
