Quarin is an agricultural world with the potential to become an industrial power.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- As a preindustrial world, this planet cannot yet manufacture enough high-technology resources to support a modern, star-faring society. Having to import many manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- This is a "low technology" world with technology competencies well below standard for Charted Space.
- It is a member of the Esaran Cultural Area in the Sena Subsector of Halcyon Sector.

System data
Ravasa-Quarin System
The primary is Ravasa, an ordinary white main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 8.1 Sols, a mass of 1.7 Sols, and a diameter of 2.366 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a vacuum worldlet, (II) a vacuum inner world, (III) an insidious atmosphere inferno world, and (IV) an ocean-covered dense atmosphere stormworld. (V) Quarin orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (VI) a sparse rocky planetoid belt, (VI) a ringed small gas giant, (VII) a large gas giant, (VIII) a trace atmosphere radworld, and (IX) a ringed large gas giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Haille Subsystem
The companion is Haille, an ordinary red main sequence star that lies approximately 3200 AU from Rastar. It has a luminosity of 0.0202 Sols, a mass of 0.3942 Sols, and a diameter of 604,000 km. (I) a small gas giant forms the outer system. The gas giant retains satellites.
Mainworld data
Quarin orbits the primary at a mean distance of 2.6 AU. It retains two moons, one large and distant with a complex atmosphere, large seas, and native life, the other small and close and little more than a cratered ball of rock. The world's atmosphere is rated as dense, with a typical surface pressure of 2 bar. It is composed of nitrogen and oxygen, with significant traces of argon, carbon dioxide, and ozone. Oxygen levels within the atmosphere are low enough (around 10%) for the atmosphere to be rated as tainted by human standards: breathing the air without artificial assistance will result in hypoxia and nitrogen narcosis.
Oceans of liquid water cover a little less than seventy percent of the planet’s surface. There are two major continental groupings, the smaller in the northern hemisphere and the larger straddling the equator and extending far into the southern hemisphere. Large islands and extensive archipelagos dot the oceans. The climate is generally temperate, with a mean surface temperature of around 18ºC. Weather patterns tend to be powerful and violent, with spectacular electrical storms. Extensive icecaps cover the polar regions.

World starport
Quarin has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World technology level
Quarin possesses a Technology Level of TL–1.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Runners or beast relay and long distance signaling such as the heliograph and semaphore.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Muscle power and water wheels.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Riding animals, rickshaws, carts or other creature-drawn wheeled vehicles.
- Water: Rowed galleys and early sailing vessels.
- Air: Typically not available unless a bodily ability or ride-able flying beasts available.
World government
Quarin has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.
