Nist War
5282AD–5290AD. Part of the Early War period of the Scybrian Wars. A full-scale invasion of the Nist cluster by the Scybrian Polyarchy in response to increased interference in the Haden Insurgency, tensions over trade rights, and a rise in organised pirate activity. The Scybrian Polyarchy had territorial claims on the cluster dating to the days of the Grand Ascendency, before the Dark Age, and many saw the war as an overt land-grab by Scybria.
The Corolian Jurisdicture moved to guarantee the freedom of the cluster, supplying military materials and “advisers” to the anti-Scybrian forces, and soon a general war was in effect between the two states. The conflict was largely one of skirmishes and small-scale engagements, though in the later years of the war there were a number of large fleet actions. In 5290AD the Polyarchy declared that it had achieved its aims and withdrew to its pre-war borders. The Nist War was the second major conflict of the Scybrian Wars.
