History & Background (Dossier)
Ferry is an important, high-population, high-technology, and heavily industrialized world located in Shadigi Subsector of Diaspora Sector. It is a member of the Imperium and the subsector capital. The system features a class A Starport with appurtenant shipyards, and is a link in the X-Boat network. Ferry has been assigned an Amber Zone travel advisory.
- The mainworld's feudal technocracy is dominated by the ManuFactors Associative, a collection of companies. Ferry is a major source of high-tech goods for the surrounding area, as well as the key transport node connecting Shadigi subsector to Narquel subsector in neighboring Daibei.
Imperial High (Landed) Nobility
Ferry, as a member world of the Third Imperium has a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world.
History-Era: Rebellion
Following the Rebellion the ManuFactors Associative assumed direct control of Ferry's government. The system has become a major producer of TL 12-14 military craft, particularly the grav vehicles and fighters that are two staples of the booming mercenary trade.
- Many of the starships that move through Ferry are 600 tons displacement and greater, and most of them are jump 2 capable. These factors attract a wealthier clientele than is customarily observed in most of the high-volume, B-class ports throughout Diaspora. As a result, Ferry’s goods tend to remain in the hands of merchants and customers who are already powerful and rich. Few high-tech cargoes trickle down to the small, tech-starved worlds nearby.
