Mainworld Data[edit]

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Kmmo-im has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. The Thin Atmosphere does not require survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.

Mainworld Conditions[edit]

Kmmo-im is small but dense, largely covered in shallow seas and close enough to its primary that surface temperatures are high. This steambath environment provides good growing conditions for agricultural produce, which also includes large amounts of seafood.

Native Lifeforms[edit]

Abundant native life occupying every available ecological niche. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Kmmo-im is ruled by a staunchly pro-Hiver government, whose edicts are enforced by a mixed force of Ithklur and Human troops, though there is little dissent among the populace and these forces exist mainly to protect the planet from outside attack. Society on Kmmo-im is extremely well-integrated, and members of many races live harmoniously alongside one another.

The central university of Kmmo-im is renowned for being a centre of jumpspace research.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Kmmo-im has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Kmmo-im has a population of 60,000,000 sophonts (tens of millions).

World Demographics[edit]

Kmmo-im is home to many species including Human, Hiver, Ithklur and others.

World Languages[edit]

Along with local languages, most people here speak Gurvin.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Kmmo-im possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)[edit]

Kmmo-im is governed by Self-Perpetuating Oligarchy. A single family or small group provides the leadership and important positions within the government. These positions are inherited by members of the group or by their relatives. The organization may be a monarchy, with titles passed to family members, or a plutocracy where inheritance of the family fortune includes government position. Alternatively, the organization may be a more typical government apparatus, only with positions of power inherited.

World Law Level (L)[edit]

Kmmo-im has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All blade weapons and firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

  • Some laws on Kmmo-im are so specific that they are incomprehensible to outsiders; these often deal with interactions between certain races. For the most part, these social guidelines are second-nature to locals, and followed out of habit rather than any fear of enforcement.

Trivia[edit]

A particularly influential resistance cell on volatile Tindouf, searching outside their system for military aid, once acquired a Hiver warbot originally being transported by a merchant vessel out of Kmmo-im.

In 1105, Cunliffe, a noted member of the Solomani Studies Club of Kmmo-im, and a group of Hivers from the Federation Development Agency, were rumored to be traveling to Kivu for a lecture series.
