Vargr general.png

A defunct Vargr polity of historical importance. The Gvurrdon Pact (Imperial Anglic) or Gvurrdon Hvaek (Contemporary Arrghoun) controlled most of Gvurrdon Sector and was in contact with the Zhodani Consulate.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

The Pact was a trade confederation transformed into an empire by Prince Knurroe. Its history spans the period between the end of the First Vargr Diaspora (-2700) and the start of the Second Vargr Diaspora (-2400 to -1700).

Naming[edit]

The name Gvurrdon Hvaek literally translates as "Wanderer's Pact". Suggestions that it was named after the eponymous Gvurrdon of the Gvurrdon epic appear fanciful given that the work is dated over 300 years after the Pact was first promulgated.

Research & Technology[edit]

The Gvurrdon Pact was initially built around Jump-2 drive trading vessels and warships. In the -2400s, Prince Knurroe gained access to Jump-3 drive vessels and transformed the Gvurrdon Hvaek from a small trading confederation into a major Vargr Empire.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Political Lineage[edit]

The Pact was founded as a code of agreement between starship captains in the -2700s.

In -2480, Gvurrdon's Prince Serratogz was deposed by Prince Knurroe.

The Gvurrdon Hvaek absorbed the Khouktae Empire in -2394.

The building of the Jump-3 drive was both the creation and curse of the empire. It allowed the empire to be created from the trade pact, but the temptation to raid into Vilani space ultimately drew away many of the Gvurrdon Hvaek's ships and Vargr, disrupting the orderly flow of trade and causing the state's collapse.

Demographics[edit]

Significant populations of the following sophont races resided within this polity:
