Mirror is a low-population fluid world with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts.
- A fluid world has an oceanic geography consisting of heavily contaminated water or a substance such as ammonia, methane, hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquid.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Ch'naar Subsector of Core Sector in the Domain of Sylea.
- This world has an Imperial Scout base, capable of handling IISS starships and personnel.
- It is a member of the Dunea Main.
- During the Long Night this world was named Mishaa.
Description (Planetology)[edit]
Mainworld Atmosphere[edit]
Mirror, owned by Ling-Standard Products, derives its name from the mirage-creating effect of the atmosphere - which is rich in hydrogen sulfide, as is the ocean.
- Purified sulfur is a major export of the planet.
- Indeed, the processes used to extract the sulfur leave behind water, so that the planet is gradually becoming more livable as a result of commercial exploitation.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
A low population world in the Ch'naar Subsector of the Core Sector.
- Mirror is a member of the Imperium.
- The system hosts a Scout Base.
World Starport (Sp)[edit]
Mirror has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
Economy[edit]
Ling-Standard Products rules here.
The Alakavala Corporation -- a Geonee company from Massilia Sector -- has been buying up property and industrial capital on Mirror (and on nearby Krain). The Geonee are eager to get a foothold in the Core market and hope to rapidly increase the Tech Level, making this world a viable player in the heavy machinery and automation industries.
- This unstable planet reminds the Geonee of their homeworld of Shiwonee.
