Keawoaw is a poor, nonindustrial desert world with no free-standing water.

  • It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
  • It is a member of the Glorious Empire in the Goertel Subsector of Trojan Reach Sector.

Description (Planetology)[edit]

Flares from the larger star in the system cause havoc on the planetary bodies of Keawoaw.

The Glorious Empire maintains a base on a moon of the outermost gas giant for purposes of counterintelligence and spreading propaganda beyond the empire's borders.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

The Keawoaw system was once a Rimward outpost of the Sindalian Empire. The system was later claimed by the Aslan Tokouea'we Clan, and thus became part of the Glorious Empire when the clan broke from the Aslan Hierate.

  • Black Market activity is rife here, with temporary trading posts and smuggling stations springing up across the system.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Keawoaw has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Keawoaw has a population of 40,000 sophonts (tens of thousands).

  • This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.

World Languages[edit]

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Keawoaw possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
    • Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
    • Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
    • Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
    • FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.

World Government (G)[edit]

Keawoaw is governed by Self-Perpetuating Oligarchy. A single family or small group provides the leadership and important positions in the government. These positions are inherited by member of the group or their family members. The organization may be monarchy, with titles passed to family members. Or a plutocracy where inheritance of the family fortune includes government position. Or the organization may be more typical organization with positions of power inherited.

World Law (L)[edit]

Keawoaw has a low law level. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate. Machine guns, other automatic weapons, portable energy weapons, and other military weapons, body pistols, explosives, and poison gas are typically regulated or prohibited.
