The Alpha Crucis Foundation was a Christian colonial and missionary coalition formed during the Terran Confederation period. The organization sponsored some of the first private expeditions into the rimward regions of Ziusudra, Veracruz, and Denebola subsectors. The Foundation named the Alpha Crucis Sector, a Latin phrase translated as 'First Cross.' Foundation colonies such as Turin and Lourdes were among the most successful of the émigré settlements.
