This is the "A new Heaven? A new Earth." campaign wiki.

This campaign is being run as a PBP campaign using Unseen Servant for the main communications between players, dice-rolls, etc.

It is being overseen by BackworldTraveller.

This campaign is NOT an authorised or licensed TRAVELLER campaign and details in this Wiki page set should NOT be used for anything but personal enjoyment. No part of the information in this document set is intended to infringe upon any copyright. The campaign is being played using the Mongoose Traveller ruleset.

The Premise[edit]

Some time ago, the Earth put together an expedition to Alpha Centauri. 10 ships worked up to a good proportion of the speed of light, cooled everything down to cryogenic temperatures and cruised until the computers woke the passengers at their destination. 5 Ships arrived.

Whether it was Sabotage, Accident, Act of God or whatever, the ships didn't wake anyone for years and years and years and years. How many is not known because at midnight each day the ships clocks reset to 00:00:00 0-0-0.

Awaking in a new system so far from the Earth that they couldn't even see the Sun, they were forced to make do. 300 years ago there were 100,000 people. Now, in just 15 generations, there are a Billion - scattered across planets of the two stars of their new home. Belters, Downers, Loonies and Swimmers. The system has just managed to surpass the old technologies and a new interstellar expedition is being prepared - when suddenly there are rumours of someone having built an FTL drive!

The core of the game is the "Queen of the Belt" - a 200dTon belt-built freighter (no FTL drive) that had been impounded for years by the Belter Navy. This vessel appears to have been involved in the Starflight Scandal (or at least some of its previous crew probably were) and as the ship is rehabilitated further questions around that involvement are arising. Worse, at least two intelligence agencies and several police agencies are involved with the ship, as are some powerful criminals. What could go wrong?

Realworld Timeline[edit]

The initial character development occurred during November 2020, with an additional character joining in February 2021.

The campaign on the ship "Queen of the Belt" started in November 2020 and ended inconclusively in March 2023

An incidental side-story, set in Greenway, was started in May-2021. Sadly this petered out early.

One of the features of any persons life are the people that surround them. By April 2021, there were nearly 200 people mentioned, known about or interacted with during the campaign. These may be specific individuals, offices and their (interchangeable) holders or family groups.

Sadly (According to the "How many people know you?" question), it seems that there may be 50 times this number if the game never finishes!
