The Titan class Main Battle Tank is a TL-10 Armored Fighting Vehicle.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

The Titan class Main Battle Tank, TL-10: The vehicle has 9.434cm of radically sloped composite laminate frontal armor. Designers wanted to good cross country mobility, but the vehicle's mass quickly exceeded the suspension's ground pressure ratings. The tracked suspension was only rated to 48.3 tons, it requires extra maintenance to avoid throwing a track. As a result the vehicle can get stuck in mud 4+ and soft earth and sand on 6+. The massive fusion power plant required for the laser and the transmission are responsible of the extra mass. The fusion power plant can generate 18 MW of power to produce decent speed. As a result this vehicle is actually faster than some of its contemporaries. The vehicle is NOT sealed against CBR/NBC threats. There is a single lens pulse laser and a VRF Gauss gun in the fully stabilized rotating turret on the chassis deck.

Basic Vehicle Characteristics[edit]

Following the Imperial Army and IISS Universal Vehicle Profile and data, additional information is presented in the format shown here. The small craft factor indicates the number of squadrons (of ten craft) carried on the vehicle when applicable. Tonnage on the universal vehicle profile is shown in kilotons (thousands of tons) where necessary.

Basic Vehicle Characteristics
#. Category Remarks
1. Tonnage Total mass loaded: 80.74818 metric tons.
  • Vehicle Dimensions: 3m wide, 2m (+1m turret) tall, 7m long, +2 low hits
  • Total usable volume: 32.8m³
2. Crew x4 crew: driver, commander, gunner and gunner/loader
3. Performance Movement:
  • The power to weight ratio is 111.45 and the ground pressure is 11.535 tons/m2. Road speed is 201kph/167cm, Cross-country 100kph/83cm.
4. Electronics Equipment: 1,000 power radio, thermal, and a map box.
5. Hardpoints A fully rotating, turret 1m tall, 2m wide and 3m long with a radical frontal slope is mounted on the chassis deck.
6. Armament Weapons:
  • 9 megawatt input, single lens pulse laser: Has +2 signature, and can engage a single target per fire phase. It has TL–10 direct fire control. The vehicle is fitted with full weapon stabilization for accurate fire on the move. The laser has 9MW second capacity batteries.
Direct Fire Characteristics: Direct Fire Characteristics: 9 megawatt input, single lens pulse laser
Effective Range: 3km(53) Penetration
Long Range: 4km(53) Penetration
Extreme Range: 5.5km(53) Penetration
  • Coaxial VRF Gauss Gun: Has +4 signature, and can engage 16 targets. It requires no fire control system and has full weapon stabilization. The vehicle comes with 30,000 rounds of ammunition for the weapon, included in the purchase price. This is enough for 23 fire phases.
Direct Fire Characteristics: Direct Fire Characteristics: VRF Gauss Gun
Effective Range: 1.5km (21)+8
Long Range: 3km (19)+6
Extreme Range: 4.5km (17)+3
  • Titan TAC Missile System: There is a 48.75kg capacity TAC missile vertical tube launcher in the chassis deck. The available missiles require no guidance packages for the launching vehicle. The missiles have a 3.5km range and 25cm HE 35/6/5 warheads with homing guidance. They cost Cr383.75 each and there is storage for 20 missiles in the hull. A full load is included in the purchase price.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

The Titan class Main Battle Tank was designed and manufactured at TL–10, these vehicles are manufactured for Tyler's Titans to complete the mercenary Dream Ticket on Aramanx/Aramis (Spinward Marches 3005). These were built with money provided upfront by Sternmetal Horizons an interested megacorporation. The total unit budget was MCr30. The unit derives their name from this iconic vehicles. The laser can burn through the frontal armor of the vehicles it was expected to encounter. The VRF Gauss gun can shred infantry and light vehicles. The missile launcher helps versus enemy air craft. Well protected from direct fire, they are still over powered with an inadequate tracked suspension. They still boast impressive road speeds for such a heavy vehicle. The endurance is also a problem for longer operations, in-field refueling can pose a logistical problem.
