The Murdoch family rose to prominence when Axel Murdoch founded the megacorporation Instellarms in 626. His descendants retained control of Instellarms through a controlling interest in Murdoch Holdings until the Great Asset Swap.

- Axel Aella Murdoch. Marquis of Haley (in Fornast Sector). 16th in direct descent from the original Axel Murdoch. Born 1105.
