Starships are designed with the Classic Traveller format, using High Guard Shipyard v1.13 written by Andrea Vallance.

The Addaran class Cruiser is a warship.

Built for the Addar (world) this streamlined needle/wedge structure hull is capable of ocean refueling with fuel scoops. It features a TL–10 drives with 4 G acceleration and 3 agility. The hull is armored to withstand considerable punishment.

Basic Ship Characteristics

Following the Imperial Navy and IISS Universal Ship Profile and data, additional information is presented in the format shown here. The small craft factor indicates the number of squadrons (of ten craft) carried on the ship. Tonnage on the universal ship profile is shown in kilotons (thousands of tons) where necessary. [1]

History & Background (Dossier)

Built as a deterrent to Vargr aggression with some help from imperial underwriters who saw this a security investment to discourage corsair activity. The largest available spinal mounted particle accelerator and 22 heavy missile bays can make short work of typical raiders. It is limited to a single jump 1 on internal fuel, but offensive range was not seen as a priority. The thick armored hull is the maximum available for this TL–10 design. This limited the maneuver drives and restricted the agility. The ship's size is constrained by the available processing power of the computers, the result is the largest ship available at this level of technology. The large cargo bay offers flexibility for supplies for longer duration patrols, modular quarters for troops, or contraband seized from smugglers trying to slip across the border. Fleet marines are not not typically available and security subcontractors had to be used. Many suspect their value in combat.
