The Vargr Extents has no unified military organization. Rather, individual polities each maintain their own local military forces to defend their own interests. The types and organization of Vargr Forces vary widely, and there is no standardized model; all comments about particular Vargr Forces should be addressed on an individual polity-by-polity basis.

(Note: The rank names in the accompanying tables are common Galanglic renderings, but the actual Vargr-language terms may vary widely based on individual worlds' and polities' cultures and traditions. As a result, most Imperial observers use familiar rank-names and terms such as those in the accompanying tables to render approximately corresponding Vargr rank-levels).

Vargr Navies

Along the imperial borders in the Spinward Marches Sector two fleets, the Uthith and the Gireel, have historically held sway. Each of two admirals pulled from a pool of available formations. They had two BatRons, three CruRons, one TankRon and an AssaultRon. All the assault squadrons and cruisers are fully streamlined for fast refueling in wilderness areas. The squadrons all move at a unified rate of jump 3, and the battleships and tankers are partially streamlined.

Vargr Raiders (Ship's Troops / Naval Infantry)

Established military formations include: a field army with the equivalent of 500 TL–13 infantry battalions; three army corps, one with 100 TL–12 infantry battalions, another with 100 TL–13 infantry battalions and a third with 100 TL–12 armored battalions; four divisional sized commands, a TL–13 armored division, a TL–13 infantry division, a TL–10 armored cavalry division and a TL–10 cavalry division.
