Description / Specifications
The Medium Freighter is a large commercial transport commonly encountered along Star Lanes within the Distant Fringe. It is characterised as a Bulk Cargo Carrier.
Hull
The Medium Freighter is constructed using a 12000 dTon hull built in a close structure configuration. The hull is sufficiently streamlined to allow gas giant refuelling: the ship is equipped with fuel scoops.
Engineering
The vessel mounts a DeVoss-type jump-2 drive, a maneuver-1 drive, and a power plant 2, giving performance of jump-2 and 1G acceleration. The vessel, complete with its subcraft, costs MCr5512.582. All the vessels are standard designs and all qualify for a 20% discount, which reduces the total price to MCr4410.066.
