Revision as of 02:42, 9 October 2016
Notes (2016)
- Was forced to correct Knoellighz 1612. It had, under Mongoose, an illegal UWP of A667005-C. While the TL can be rolled, the rule of 0 Population, 0 Government and 0 Law equals 0 Tech Level. The world is claimed by Democracy of Greats (Vd or VDoG) but as a frontier Garden world, it has yet to be fully surveyed, scouted, explored, pioneered, colonized or settled as of 1105. Unless the planet is inhabited by colonization robots from a Ht, nearby world, (and there isn't one within 2 parsecs); I corrected it to A667000-0. -Pakkrat 01/18/2016
- Corrected Knoellighz 0430. Same illegal UWP similar to above. -Pakkrat 1/18/2016
- Corrected Knoellighz 1726, adding In Trade Code as the world has UWP of A5009ED-C. Mongoose says it also has In code. -Pakkrat 1/18/2016
- Corrected Knoellighz 2302, for illegal Tech Level rating. A577000-C to A577000-0. This world's Starport A must be far outsystem from the mainworld.
- Corrected 1804 for same above reason of illegal TL code. Barren = 0 TL.
- Corrected 0417 for same above reason of illegal TL code. Barren = 0 TL.
- Corrected 0605 for same above reason of illegal TL code. Barren = 0 TL.
- Corrected 0815 for same above reason of illegal TL code. Barren = 0 TL.
- Corrected 2801 for same above reason of illegal TL code. Barren = 0 TL.
- Corrected 0114 for same above reason of illegal TL code. Barren = 0 TL.
- Observation: worlds with Ba and thus 0 TL and yet have better than X Starport must indicate that the world is under colonization and that new arrivals have constructed Highports before truly landing start-up colony assets planetside. -Pakkrat 01/27/2016
- With these many corrections due to Barren, Failing or Doomed worlds, it must remembered that Knoellighz Sector is a frontier edge of Known Space and that the Vargr Extents polities and non-aligned, pioneering attempts will make plenty of mistakes in their Coreward expansion.
Additionally, those UWPs that are illegal under Mongoose are legal under T5. They're called "Dieback" worlds.
"Dieback" worlds = Code Di.

UWP Differences Mongoose vs. T5 (2016)
- Added subsector Capitals (Cx) for each subsector. Note that more than one Capitals are non-Aligned by UWP default merit rather than by polity.
Also, subsector capitals should be "Cp". "Cx" is for polity capitals.
Exotic Star Types (2016)
According to the original generation of worlds based on the V&V dotmap, many worlds have only one or more Dwarf stars as the primary or primary and secondary. How should these be listed if such are legal worlds according to stellar generation? Should the primary Dwarf be changed to a different star?
- Pakkrat 02/12/2016
My suggestion would be to change the classification of the primary from "D" to "V". Though, systems with only dwarf stars are possible, but only with vacuum worlds (not enough heat to maintain liquid water).
Do any of the rules versions allow for:
- L (very dark Red Dwarf),
- T (Brown Dwarf),
- Y (very rare Brown Dwarf), or
- C-R (carbon stars) as primaries or captured stellar bodies?
- The Pakkrat (talk) 13:37, 21 June 2016 (EDT)
Yes, but not officially. Or at least to the best of my knowledge, but I wasn't on any of the special T5 committees... Right now, those codes do not exist in the Wiki or T5, but they could be programmed in for someone who says please... Really appreciate your cool development, PKRT.
- Maksim-Smelchak (talk) 13:49, 21 June 2016 (EDT)
BTW, several captured bodies exist in Trav canon and even 1 black hole.

Generating the CX and EX values?
I have to ask. How are you generating the CX and EX values you are putting into the page? Tjoneslo (talk) 14:19, 7 October 2016 (EDT)
In answer, I dug out dice and used Traveller5 and did them by hand. Without trusting some generation program, I did {Ix}, (Ex) and [Cx] the long, slow and careful way.The Pakkrat (talk) 13:54, 8 October 2016 (EDT)
Ready for T5SS Check
Having regenerated the duplicate systems, revised the Trade Classifications, {Importance}, (Economics), [Culture], Bases, Zones, Population/Belts/Giants, Other Worlds, there remains ratifying T5SS 4-letter Allegiance codes for the polities in Knoellighz Sector. Then, I'd like the Traveller Map polity names changed to reflect my revisions:
- Ascendancy Pact (VAsP) - There is an Antares Pact straddling the Meshan/Mendan Sector border already
- Democracy of Greats (VDoG)
- Infinity League (VInL)
- Oculus Alignment (VOcA) - There is an Opposition Alignment in Meshan Sector already, but I did detect Roger Malmstein's mention of Opposition in his fan-made Gvurrdon Sector Scourcebook
- Zhodani Consulate (ZhCo)
Note following sub-polity cooperation groups:
Note also the aggressor entity from Ghoekhnael Sector
- Oenlaetsvaeg Dominance out of Oenlaetsvaeg (world) in year 1117
Now to take all the data for this sector and put it into a non-delineated, hex-ordered list so it will plug into the Traveller Map's mapmaker and crank out a Trade Map, (my original goal as it will help me see the overall story here). The Pakkrat (talk) 13:06, 8 October 2016 (EDT)
- Two things I would change here, one minor, one major:
- 1) minor, the Zhodani Consulate trade code should be : ZhSh, which is Province of Shtochiadr.
- 2) Major: Knoellighz_Sector/world_list -> Your world list in the T5SS approved format. You will need to update the data pages for each world with the Ex and Cx data (and any other changes). The data pages for each world are a sub-page for the world page: e.g. Jelniekl (world)/data
- As I posted to you before I have verified all the trade codes and Ix values for this data.
- Tjoneslo (talk) 19:04, 8 October 2016 (EDT)
- Well, sir, in looking at that list, I found an error of mine, Sablzhdafrne (0201) and four errors of yours: Uego (0911), Rourruengghog (2807), Khoekho (2620) and Anguksknaengon (3211). This is perhaps because C (corsair base) and K (naval base) do not count like Naval Base AND Scout Base grant +1 per Importance on page 411. Is there some other reason why these were as you list them? Vargr Extents can throw an auto-checker I am thinking. On the bright side, it changed the total Resource Units for Riadr Subsector.
- It will be slow-going and an onward project to go though the world/data of each of the worlds as well as the world_list, but I will begin updating them. The Pakkrat (talk) 20:05, 8 October 2016 (EDT)
- You are correct. The CK bases should not count as +1 for importance. I have fixed my checker for this case. I will update the data in the worlds.
- What is missing from your worlds is any Exploration (V) bases. In this case a world with KV (Navy and Scout, non-imperial) should get the +1. Tjoneslo (talk) 21:45, 8 October 2016 (EDT)
- Agreeable that there might be V Exploration Bases. There is no apt Traveller Map symbol for such and I found none when I regenerated the duplicate worlds.
