Originally settled by [[Vilani]] colonists, a second wave of [[Solomani]] settlers of Amerindian descent arrived and intermingled with the original colonists a few centuries later, supplanting the original Vilani culture. With the fall of the Solomani at the collapse of the [[Rule of Man]], the Vilani-based House Kaninikasatisi regained political power on Sahale and has maintained it ever since. The traditions of the Imperial Household requires the worldwide observance of the anniversaries of every former ruler’s birthday and death, leading to a situation where the population of Sahale are required to celebrate more days each year than they do not.
