Clan Syoisuis

A major Aslan clan, currently ranked third in the Hierate. The Syoisuis are a monolithic grouping of several billion Aslan, maintaining its power through an array of vassal clans scattered throughout the Aslan Hierate. Generally, the Syoisuis avoid alliances, keeping their own interests in the foreground.

Some Human observers perceive this clan as "dark and sinister," probably because of its restrictive and secretive nature. Syoisuis favors wars of assassins, and has a mastery of intelligence and counter-intelligence unsurpassed by any other clan. However, its intelligence focuses on reconnaissance and observation. The clan excludes such methods as extortion and subterfuge -- things distasteful to Aslan honor -- but familiar to Human covert operations.

Neither does Syoisuis protect its secrets to give itself an advantage. The secrecy is instead meant to deny its opponents an advantage by denying them information, even things that by themselves seem of no consequence. Syoisuis does not depend on secrecy in strategic planning. Should its military secrets become known, its plans would change little. To do otherwise would be "sneaky" and not befitting Aslan honor.

The ruling ahri is, per ancient custom, also named Syoisuis, a practice unique among the Aslan and which creates confusion for outsiders (quite possibly the point).

Another thing distinguishing the Syoisuis from other clans is the high degree of centralised planning and control; in this sense, the clan's structure resembles many Human governments.

Clan Enemies

The Syoisuis destroyed the Tlasayoae clan for their dishonour in destroying civilization on Ka'aheakh (Beyond Sector) through bioweapons. The Syoisuis claimed the planet from their annihilated foe, and helped the natives reestablish themselves.

  • The clan wholly owns the world of Oiwohas; its vassal Hi'Ikhua holds the worlds Eiyea and Uiftaoa in fief. Syoisuis also has holdings on 15 split-control worlds, including Kusyu itself. On Kusyu, the Syoisuis control the city of Erloiryo.

• Staihaia'yo Sector
  • Syoisuis quietly dominates the heart of the Staihaia'yo Sector.
