Syrna is a rich world with a shirt-sleeve atmosphere and a balance of available surface water. The system supports a population in the 100's of millions, which makes it too urbanized to make an agricultural world. This world designated as an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Zeda Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Amec Trade Protectorate and the Domain of Vland. Syrna, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of an Imperial knight and a baronet, and the fiefdoms of a baron and a viscount. All four are members of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. This world has a nearby Imperial Naval Base, capable of handling warships. During the Long Night this world was named Uushar Kaam. The Nahuatl name of the world is Tzocochtli.

History and background

Commercial farming of literary thousands of species of cat from all over the Imperium occurs here; they are selectively bred for their fur.

World Starport (St)

Syrna has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

  • There is an associated Naval Base.

World Population (P)

Syrna has a population of 600,000,000 sophonts (hundreds of millions).

Linguistic Topography

The following languages might be heard here:

The planet's Nahuatl name is Tzocochtli.

Although the current Nahuatl designation is not official, it is included in order to assist travellers who may find it beneficial to use this planetary designation while travelling within the Federation. It is strongly recommended that visitors obtain a good quality translator MemClip prior to entering Federation space. INDISS produce a high quality Galanglic-Nahuatl two-way clip available from all good data libraries, price Cr. 150 rrp.

Urbanization

Syrna is famous for its garden cities, each built on the surface of a lake and consisting of thousands of beautiful houses, pyramids, and towers covered in frescoes, flowers, and vines growing from the many tiers and balconies. Each settlement is surrounded by water and floating gardens. Thousands of species of flowering plants have been bio-modified to thrive in the local climate.

World Technology Level (T)

Syrna possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)

Syrna is governed by a Charismatic Oligarchy, like a charismatic dictatorship in that a larger group has asserted their right to rule. The group will have better rules of succession and may last longer or may transition to a non-charismatic dictatorship.

World Law (L)

Syrna has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A world with this law level may be an Amber Zone or a Red Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). Civilian movement is rigidly controlled. Travel documents are frequently checked. There is no legal concept of privacy (save for those who can claim necessity for official government business). The police are free to inspect anyone and anything at any time.

  • Public drunkenness, except on festival days, is punishable by death.
