History & Background / Dossier[edit]
After two disappointing attempts of world colonization, the shipbuilders of Khezoeridosai (Knoellighz 1212) were happily surprised to arrive in orbit over Zovoe (Knoellighz 1013) C986432-7 Ga Ni and begin construction of a Downport. The colony was slow to populate after the previous track record of homeworld Khezoeridosai’s previous finds. Twenty thousand Vargr colonists were happy they waited to hear of Zovoe before boarding their generation’s vessels. With a familiar surface gravity, a similarly-dense but clean atmosphere, and sufficient (60%) surface seas, the Garden world was welcoming breath of clean air.
Recreation was the initial draw to Zovoe with its low population, little need for true governance (a Representative Democracy), and consequently a low Law requirement painted Zovoe as a pristine, new start for colonists. Vargr here from Khezoeridosai are eternally happy not to require breathing filters and their lungs are suited and strong enough to tolerate the dense atmospheric pressure. Weather is calm and the higher pressure allows for comfortable average planetary temperatures as well as tolerable winter seasons to furred Vargr. The main occupation of colonists here is maintaining the local Downport and offering services of recreation to starship crews that stop here after more than three weeks journey from Khezoeridosai.
World Starport[edit]
Zovoe has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Technology Level[edit]
Zovoe possesses a Technology Level of TL–7.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early video and early satellite communication networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fuel cells, solar energy, and geothermal power sources.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Improved automobiles, hovercraft, and bullet trains.
- Water: Hydrofoils and early triphibians.
- Air: Hang gliders and supersonic jets.
- Space: Deep space probes and interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
World Government[edit]
Zovoe is governed by Self-Perpetuating Oligarchy. A single family or small group provides the leadership and important positions in the government. These positions are inherited by member of the group or their family members. The organization may be monarchy, with titles passed to family members. Or a plutocracy where inheritance of the family fortune includes government position. Or the organization may be more typical organization with positions of power inherited.
