Zighagnagvaen is an agricultural world with an ideal environment for producing food from plants, animals, or other lifeforms. It supports a shirt-sleeve atmosphere and a balance of available surface water. The system hosts a population between 100 thousand and 1 million. The world has a colony on Ronaeksourrgh (Knoellighz 1838). This is a temperate world, with a climate of average temperatures. It is a member of Ascendancy Pact in the Raelas Subsector of Knoellighz Sector.

  • This system hosts a Pact Naval Base for support of military starships.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Stellar Data[edit]

Zighagnagvaen orbits a binary of F9 V and M0 V classification, punctuated with a captured far outer orbit White Dwarf with a declined and eccentric orbit track.

Zighagnagvaen has three stars in the star system.

System Data[edit]

The system has seven sizable Gas Giants, each with an orbital refinery, TL-10, ready to serve vessels for pay. Additionally, a dense planetoid belt is swarmed daily by belter prospectors eager to find a rich deposit of viable meteoric iron and other heavy elements.

Mainworld Data[edit]

Zighagnagvaen, as a Size 7 world, is slightly smaller than Terra and holds its inhabitants with a gravity of 0.9g at the surface. Blessed with a Standard atmosphere and a comfortable 1.1 pressure, its weather and water cycle are ideal for ranching and spice farming.

Mainworld Geography & Topography[edit]

The large oceans comprising the 51% hydrosphere are studied by ecologists and environmentalists. The Temperate climate across the planet attracts visitors seasonally and enlivens the tourism industry here.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Zighagnagvaen has colonized and developed the populous and industrial Ronaeksourrgh (Knoellighz 1838).

To serve as a model patron to Ronaeksourrgh, Zighagnagvaen's population of 900,000 Vargr has proudly put forth its Civil Service Bureaucracy with a Law Level of 9 to disarm its citizens and outbound colonists. Such commuting colonists are transported in huge freighters that are packed with food cargoes to the hungry industrial planet. Thus a circuit of trade is healthy between the two worlds. However, as of 1105, this planet is suffering a cultural shift that may not be for the better. Influenced by the mercantile powerhouse of Ronaeksourrgh, Zighagnagvaen is becoming degenerate, with the pleasures of industry lulling its populace into the comforts of technology with a falling-off of desire to produce such diversions locally. Trade ships eagerly post their wares online as soon as they jump into the system from the colony world.

As with the rest of the Ascendancy Pact, this world's Representative takes a stand in the polity legislative body against Zhodani influence and meddling in Knoellighz Sector. This mindset continues to stoke the embers of the Quiet Wars with its neighbors.

Early in the growth of the Ascendancy Pact, colony planners ensured a peaceful settlement with a Naval Base local to Zighagnagvaen's Highport and a new Naval Base on the surface of Ronaeksourrgh's Downport. With a total of three such Bases in the local, Jump-1 cluster in this rimward and aging part of the Pact, interstellar security is higher than most worlds of the polity.

The Zighagnagvaen cluster, in direct competition with the Uosa Syndicate Privateers, tries to keep up with the new innovations issuing from their world, Uosa (Knoellighz 2237), threatening a trade cold war relationship. Economists are baffled as to where the Syndicate is producing such wondrous TL-15 products with only a TL-8 averaging mainworld. However, since the space around Uosa is peaceful and clean of piracy, the Admiralty of the Ascendancy Pact Navy has no plausible cause to delve into the business of the tail-end of the polity. The Representatives and Magistrates of the Pact have their eyes and noses Coreward, leaving behind the issue in their wake.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Zighagnagvaen has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

  • There is an associated Naval Base
  • Vargr starports reflect the variety of Vargr architecture, with many disparate styles of building, each having their own unique ornamentation and gaudy colour scheme, and all competing for the attention of the onlooker. Emblems for the major shipping lines and port facilities abound.

Historical Data[edit]

Virus Era 1130s

Trade is disrupted in the Wilds thanks to the ravages of Virus and the frightening Vampire Fleets. Starship battles in the skies above Zighagnagvaen terrorize the peoples of the mainworld.

Empress Wave 1156

Though by this year Psions and Wild Talents are few and have hidden themselves well, there is a small, quiet exodus Coreward as they attempt a shielded, Low Berth crossing of the Empress Wave. Quite a few, entire ship’s Psion Passengers whose precautions are sub-standard become temporary madhouses as they cross the Wave.
