History and Background (Dossier)[edit]

World Starport (St)[edit]

Vaeghovangugh has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

  • Vargr starports reflect the variety of Vargr architecture, with many disparate styles of building, each having their own unique ornamentation and gaudy colour scheme, and all competing for the attention of the onlooker. Emblems for the major shipping lines and port facilities abound.

World Population (P)[edit]

Vaeghovangugh has a population of 300,000,000 sophonts (hundreds of millions).

Linguistic Topography[edit]

The most widely spoken language is a dialect of Gvegh.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Vaeghovangugh possesses a Technology Level of TL–8.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics, improved telephones, and satellite communication and data networks.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Improved geothermal and improved batteries.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Advanced automobiles.
    • Water: Triphibians and early artificial gills.
    • Air: Improved helicopters and hypersonic jets.
    • Space: Space shuttles, early space stations, and improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).

World Government (G)[edit]

Vaeghovangugh is governed by a Representative Democracy where government leadership is by representatives elected by eligible voters. What determines an eligible voter varies. The representatives determine policy, including selecting members of the bureaucracy. There can be referenda, votes by eligible voters on specific subjects.

The interstellar government that encompasses this world is ruled by a tight elite. The Vargr population is divided between Equals and Non-Equals; only a Vargr that has been rated Equal may take a ruling position in the government.

World Military[edit]

World Law (L)[edit]

Vaeghovangugh has a low law level. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate. Portable energy weapons, body pistols, explosives, and poison gas are typically regulated or prohibited.

World Economy[edit]

The Society of Equals is primarily built on free trade between member worlds, which are encouraged to foster trade relations with one another. With the exception of locally determined contraband, embargos between member worlds are forbidden. Refusing trade of legal goods from another member imposes fines.
