Traa is a ring of many small worldlets (planetoids AKA an "asteroid belt"), not capable of retaining an atmosphere or water, and both non-agricultural and preindustrial in nature.
- These worldlets warrant hazardous environment precautions.
- Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
- The worldlets are, for the most part, unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
- These worldlets are working towards being an industrial world but lack an adequate workforce to do so.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Chant Subsector of Core Sector in the Domain of Sylea.
- This world has a colony at Rorpa Din (world).
Description (Planetology)[edit]
The starport is housed in Kala-an-Vodi, Traa's largest planetoid.
System Data[edit]
Traa has been mined by belters for thousands of years and its asteroids have been almost completely tapped of their precious metals. Most mining activity now occurs on the other planets and gas giant moons of the system.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Many old mining facilities in the asteroids have been converted for recreational use and now host artificial habitats including zoos, spas, amusement parks, etc. Vacationers from industrial Raami and Skeen are frequent visitors.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Traa has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The most commonly heard languages are:
- Anglic, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
- Vilani, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
Economy[edit]
The Kala-an-Vodi planetoid's high-tech shipyard only manufactures civilian spacecraft and is known for producing many custom designs. Its financial success has garnered the interest of investors including the megacorporation GSbAG, which has purchased a minority stake.
