The Thaki of Siam (Zarushagar 0518) are an extinct Minor Non-Human Race with a non-humanoid appearance.

• They are known (and usually dismissed) as "Others" in Imperial culture.

Description (Specifications)

The Thaki are a race which is believed to have existed some 100,000 years ago.

History & Background (Dossier)

The name Others is taken from a book written by self-proclaimed Professor Indigo Lunit, who claimed to have discovered evidence of the race during the latter years of the First Civil War.

Lunit's book advances the theory that the Others rose to intelligence after the Ancient's Final War and that they explored the sector using sublight starships. The book offered little supporting evidence to back its claims and was quickly dismissed by the scientific community of the day.

Lunit disappeared along with the artifacts she claimed to possess not long after the book was published. Both were on their way to Capital and a meeting with the Imperial Academy of Science. Lunit's ship is presumed to have been lost in a space battle in Core sector. Few people today have ever heard of Indigo Lunit or the Others.

It is possible that the sublight generation ship used by the M'Nengi, thought to originate in Zarushagar Sector, was built by the Thaki.
