Taraan is an agricultural, nonindustrial world still lacking adequate means to expand its economy.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- It is a member of the Carrillian Assembly in the Drinsaar Subsector of Reaver's Deep Sector.
- This world has a nearby Naval Base, usually associated with military starships.
- This world has a nearby Military Base, usually associated with military ground forces.
- This world was once known as Esokhi.

Government and Politics[edit]
Only two rival factions of note remain in the Carrillian Assembly, out of what once were dozens. These are the conservative Assemblist party, focused on stability, and the opposition Expansionist party, which seeks to incorporate new territories through economic and military domination. In parallel, most Carrillian businesses have merged or been absorbed, leaving only a handful of large corporations.
