• This world has yet to take off economically or otherwise and the population remains low for reasons largely unknown.
• It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the The Borderland Subsector of Trojan Reach Sector.

System Data

The low official population conceals the presence of a significant number of unofficial settlements. There is also a great deal of in-system industry located on various worlds and moons. Longer-range vessels typically move through Arunisiir, so Tanith is a "local port" rather than a major link on trade routes.

The Grand Duchy of Requille, a nation of Umemii, maintains a fuelling station in orbit over the third planet (a gas giant).

Mainworld Topography and Geography

Tanith is largely covered in seas, its landmass taking the form of island chains. The Port of Tanith is located on Great Tanith, the largest in a chain of islands named Tanith-Major.

Other major islands include the Yaltai subcontinent, one of the larger landmasses of Tanith but not very hospitable. A high mountain range along the western coast creates a vast rainshadow desert known as the Central Dry.

History & Background (Dossier)

The General Development Company has major facilities on Tanith.

Tanith is a mineral-rich, habitable world and was to be the main focus of early efforts in the Trojan Reach Project, in terms of colonisation and development of the world's economy. The colonisation push never happened, but the projected orbital starport was constructed and did indeed come to be the hub of GeDeCo operations in the Borderland.

World Starport

Tanith has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
