Zhodani Civil War? Where does this come from? Dcorrin 17:38, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
- Using what is left of my mind; i wnat to say that Peter Gray is the origin (http://www.downport.com/bard/bard/opal/opal10502.html) wwith reference "All information based upon data taken from Zhodani Base". --Sstefan 12:09, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
- It comes from Peter Gray's post-rebellion alternate time line. There is a paper in the BARD collection which goes into greater details about the collapse of the Zhodani Consulate due to the effects of the Empress Wave. Since the TNE canon never fully discusses the Zhodani situation (I could be very wrong about this), the paper and it references stand as "non-canon" rather than alternate canon.
- Peter's political rants are interesting, but I'm not enough of a politics analysis person to discuss them properly. Tjoneslo 12:15, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
- When I created the image map I left the text unaltered, as I will with the rest of the Foreven subsectors, before I move on to complete the Solomani Rim pages that are yet to be placed in this format. I have to say I was also unsure on the Zhodani Civil War, the Exodus and the Empress Wave as I've not looked through a lot of TNE material. I was also unimpressed with the material on the the Empress Wave and Project Longbow, if a wave is moving toward you at the speed of light then visual images of it from distant regions will reach you at the same time as the wave itself, rendering it effectively invisible. This more or less violates the "no faster then light communication" precept that has been with Traveller from day one, although the pages do state that it is canon. - The Empress Wave is an artifact of Digest Group Publications authors in their attempt to blow up the Traveller universe during the Rebellion. The TNE authors never retconned it out of existence. So Peter Gray extrapolated the effects, along with his own political views, which produced the Zhodani Exodus, their civil war, and finally the Crucible Campaign, the New Era alternate universe.
