Storm (RD 1404) is a high-population, industrial world with a billion or more sophonts in population size.
- As an industrial world, this planet has well-developed manufacturing and processing industries. Manufactured goods are a major export item.
- Its economy is rapidly growing and living conditions are expected to rapidly improve barring outside forces.
- This is a temperate world, with a climate of pleasant, average temperatures, considered to be an ideal or near-ideal environment by many different sophont species.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Riftdeep Subsector of Reaver's Deep Sector.
- This is the homeworld of the H'oskhikhil, a sophontic species and a minor race.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
No information yet available.
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Most fauna has a distinct larval stage and adult form. Environmental triggers cause the growth of an animal's offspring as buds within its body. The adult eventually dies, furnishing food for the young as they emerge.
Native Sophont (NIL): H'oskhikhil[edit]

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
In 1105 the planet named Storm (Reaver's Deep 1404) was undiscovered and uncharted. The system, located on the edge of the Great Rift, was then unclaimed and known only as 300-207, the IISS designation for the former mainworld (E300000-0). Storm, which occupies a highly eccentric orbit, had not been investigated during initial surveys.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Storm has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
1105 charts list the world as uninhabited; it would later be discovered that the H'Oskhikhil live here.
World Government[edit]
The government of the H'oskhikhil is a Feudal Technocracy, with the most intelligent individual of each compound elected as the compound's leader. Compounds within a region will co-operate and trade with each other, with the most technically advanced compound leader becoming the regional leader.
Later History[edit]
The discovery of a derelict alien ship in a nearby system led to the recognition of civilization on Storm. Lacking jump drive, the ship had apparently travelled below lightspeed to reach the system where it was found. The ship used advanced technology -- fusion power and gravity drives -- but had no computers or other microelectronic components on board. A clue from the ship's lighting system pointed to a nearby blue-white sun as the home of the vessel's builders. Caledon Ventures, a mercantile firm, sensed profits in the chance of selling computer systems to the aliens and made contact.
