Meta-History & Background: 2019-0513[edit]
Solomani Rim Sector was originally designed by John Harshman and first appeared in Classic Traveller Supplement 10: The Solomani Rim (GDW, 1982). [1]
- However, the game map for the board game Imperium encompasses parts of Sol, Dingir, Capella, and Gemini subsectors of the sector, and the astrography in Imperium was carried over into Supplement 10 with a few name changes (Alpha Centauri became Prometheus, Tau Ceti became Iilike, Epsilon Eridani became Shulimik, and Epsilon Indi became Meshan).
- In 1977, the Imperium board game was published.
- In 1981, Marooned/Marooned Alone was published.
- In 1982, Supplement 10 The Solomani Rim was published.
- In 1983, Nomads of the World Ocean was published.
- In 1984, the Classic Traveller Atlas of the Imperium was published.
- In 1984, Signal GK (book) was published.
- In 1984, the article: "Luna: A Traveller's Guide" was published in Dragon Magazine #87.
- In 1986, the Classic Traveller Solomani (Alien Module) was published.
- In 1987, The MegaTraveller Imperial Encyclopedia was published.
- In 1989, the periodical The Travellers' Digest 13 was published.
- In 1990, MegaTraveller Alien - Vilani & Vargr was published.
- In 1993, Luna: Travellers Guide was published.
- In the late 1990's, The Solomani Rim Sector was the focus of an acclaimed non-canon New Era adventure campaign called the Children of Earth featured in the fanzine, the Traveller Chronicle.
- In 1996, the periodical Traveller Chronicle 10 was published.
- In 1996, the periodical Traveller Chronicle 11 was published.
- In 1997, the periodical Traveller Chronicle 12 was published.
- In 2000, GURPS Traveller: Rim of Fire, a GURPS Solomani sourcebook, was released, which had a number of story conflicts and has had some parts of it since declared non-canon.
- In 2006, GURPS Traveller: Interstellar Wars was published.
- In 2012, the Mongoose Traveller: Solomani Rim book, was published.
- This sector was programmed into the Traveller RPG Wiki in 2016. It could use updating again.
- It has been T5 Second Survey reviewed and updated to T5 standards.
