Solitude is a ring of many small worldlets (planetoids AKA an "asteroid belt"), not capable of retaining an atmosphere or water, and nonindustrial in nature.
- These worldlets warrant hazardous environment precautions.
- Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
- The worldlets require extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- It is a member of the Protectorate of Leset in the Xelan Subsector of Far Home Sector, which is part of the Distant Fringe.
- The far companion star is a territory of the Worlds of The Leader.
Astrography and Planetology[edit]
This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.
- It is a member of the Ritos Cluster.

System Data[edit]
Wysoki-Solitude System[edit]
The primary is Wysoki, a dim red main sequence star: it and Chib, the companion star, orbit a barycenter located at 40.8 AU (orbital position (X), 6.1 billion km) and have an orbital period around one another of 335 years. Wysoki has a luminosity of 0.007 Sols, a mass of 0.331 Sols, and a diameter of 498,000 km. (I) a vacuum worldlet, (II) the Solitude Main Belt, designated the mainworld, (III) a planetoid belt, (IV) a large gas giant, (V) a trace atmosphere iceworld, and (VI) a vacuum worldlet form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
- The star experiences occasional flare activity.
Chib Subsystem[edit]
The companion is Chib, a dim red main sequence star that lies 81.4 AU from Wysoki (orbital position (XI), 12.2 billion km): the two stars orbit a barycenter located at 40.8 AU (orbital position (X), 6.1 billion km) and have an orbital period around one another of 335 years. Chib has a luminosity of 0.004 Sols, a mass of 0.273 Sols, and a diameter of 414,000 km. (I) an exotic atmosphere stormworld, (II) a thin atmosphere radworld, (III) a sparse stony planetoid belt, (IV) a ringed small gas giant, and (V) a ringed large gas giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
- The star experiences periodic flare activity.
Ordin Subsystem[edit]
The far companion is Ordin, a red subdwarf star that lies approximately 3,830 AU from Wysoki and Chib. It has a luminosity of 0.00103 Sols, a mass of 0.081 Sols, and a diameter of 109,000 km. (I) a vacuum worldlet, (II) a trace atmosphere iceworld, (III) a sparse icy planetoid belt, and (IV) a small gas giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
- The Ordin Subsystem is a territory of the Worlds of The Leader. The state maintains an active military presence in the subsystem.
Mainworld Data[edit]
(II) Solitude Main Belt[edit]
(II) the Solitude Main Belt orbits within the outer system and is designated the mainworld. It lies at a mean distance of 0.38 AU from the star and is primarily made up of carbonaceous bodies with diameters of less than 50 km. The inner edge of the belt, with a higher concentration of nickel-iron bodies, is considered to lie at around 0.29 AU from the star and the outer edge of the belt, with a higher concentration of icy bodies, is considered to lie at approximately 0.47 AU. The main inhabited body is named Lonely, with a mean orbital distance of 0.36 AU around Wysoki and an orbital period of 137 days 3 hours. It has a long axis of 188 km, a density of 3.87 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.01 G. It retains no atmosphere and has no hydrographics. Mean surface temperature: -75°C in sunlight, -175°C in shadow.
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Wysoki-Solitude System[edit]
No world in the system is known to have native life.
Chib Subsystem[edit]
No world in the subsystem is known to have native life.
Ordin Subsystem[edit]
No world in the subsystem is known to have native life.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The primary and companion stars of the Solitude system are members of the Protectorate of Leset.
- It is the site of a Protectorate forced labor camp.
The far companion star is a territory of the Worlds of The Leader. That state maintains an active military presence within the subsystem.
World starport[edit]
Solitude has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World technology level[edit]
Solitude possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land & Water: Grav belts and maturing gravcraft.
- Air: Greatly improved hybrid grav-aircraft.
- Space: Improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-1.
World government[edit]
Solitude is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.
