Rroekhsuek is a water world with 90% or more of its surface covered in an ocean, and a short-sleeve breathable atmosphere. The system has a population in the millions of sophonts, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. The world has a colony on Azgol (Knoellighz 1912). The world has a colony on Ksee (Knoellighz 2317). The world has a colony on Ouollou (Knoellighz 2211). It is a Vargr dominated Non-Aligned world in the Oguegh Subsector of Knoellighz Sector.

  • This system hosts a Naval Base for support of military starships.

Mainworld Data[edit]

This world is slightly smaller than Terra with a surface gravity of 0.9. This gravity battles against the atmospheric pressure yet balances the underwater pressures enough to allow undersea crust mining by submarines, submersibles, and robotic mining drones modified for oceans. All other mining occurs in the varied planetoid belts in the system, inside the Gas Giants, and surrounding Rroeksuek as fragmented and distributed debris in the inner planets orbits' range.

A dense atmosphere with a sea level pressure of 1.6 requires no gear to breathe, though many prefer the contra gravity port located in the upper troposphere until acclimated to the pressure on the many stationary platforms of the world's shallows.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Rroekhsuek is a member of the Democracy of Greats. It is a non-Great, singular mainworld chosen for its lack of a main and its resulting neutrality.

A Water (Wa) world, one of five in Oguegh Subsector, with frozen ice caps and wandering icebergs, Rroeksuek is 100% covered by oceanic water with a slightly lower salinity, easing the need for desalination of potable water for the population. With such water abundance, the local government has yet to tax wilderness refueling. Waterborne sports are a favorite, such as big fishing, speed boating, submarine regattas, and aerial race courses with speed being a favorite characteristic.

Rroeksuek is happily selected as the newest, agreed-upon meeting world of the Greats, who congregate every seven years in system-wide events and pageantry. Traffic increases to five times its usual amount and system traffic control is frantically trying to upgrade its communications network for these events.

World Starport[edit]

Rroeksuek has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

  • There is an associated Naval Base.
  • Vargr starports reflect the variety of Vargr architecture, with many disparate styles of building, each having their own unique ornamentation and gaudy colour scheme, and all competing for the attention of the onlooker. Emblems for the major shipping lines and port facilities abound.

Population and Demographics[edit]

With three million Vargr of the Democracy of Greats harvesting oceanborne resources, the cuisine quickly inures visitors to a seafood diet.

The meeting of the Greats every seven years swells the planetary hotels, surface and gravitic, to bursting as Greats, their charismatic entourage, military admirals, emissaries, corporate executives and of course news media of all types descend on the world. The population on Rroeksuek inflates to 10 million, requiring surface ships, gravitic flyers and even submarine liners to house the grand convocation. Many find purchase in the orbital, A-rated Highport for health or age reasons. Many passenger liners of aerospace and system venues advertise intensely for their services at these events.

The selection of Rroeksuek as a central, meeting point for the Charismatic Greats has prompted the planetary Feudal Technocracy to spend much of the tourism budget on Downport platform expansion, Highport upgrades and other docking satellites -- and the Naval Base also in orbit.

Politics[edit]

Ruled by a set of resource Guilds, tourism Guilds, technology Guilds, pharmacology Guilds, etc., it can be said that these special interest groups must come together to keep the local economy in balance with incoming and outgoing trade, often leading to disagreements, labor and management strikes, and Infighting to settle disputes. Longer disputes are locally termed Guild Wars and rarely leave the atmosphere of Rroeksuek. This is generally cleaned up every seven years when the fleets of the Charismatic Greats arrive in-system. Vargr corporations court this world for space before, during and after each gathering of the Greats, keeping the millstone of economy grinding in near-decade waves.

Rroeksuek competes with Gziriggurkhosrus (Knoellighz 1919) over being named the subsector Capital. Though it has a triad of three successful colonies -- Azgol, Ouollou and Ksee (Knoellighz 1912, 2211 and 2317 respectively) -- Rroeksuek is passed over due to its role as the newest meeting ground of the Charismatic Greats every seven years. This seems to satisfy the Guilds frequently enough to keep the world from true Balkanization.
