A Rogue World is a world that does not orbit a central star.

  • It is a type of Exoplanet or Exo World
  • It is a Planet or world type.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

A Rogue World has been kicked out from a stellar system and sometimes even a galaxy. It is no longer in a significant gravitational relationship with a star meaning that it does not have a reliable source of stellar radiation.

However, that lack of a star in close proximity does not mean that the rogue world is lacking a significant source of energy, which may originate from the planetary core (in the form of decaying radioactives or residual heat from the worlds formation) or cosmic trace radiation. Life may be possible under such conditions.

Planetary Characteristics[edit]

Rogue worlds may be tiny worldlets, larger rocky worlds, or gas giants.

Climate[edit]

The surfaces of planetoids or rocky worlds are likely to be frigidly cold and eternally dark.

Gas Giant worlds have warm interiors, serving to maintain their gigantic atmospheres.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

It was once rumored that a Solomani world full of Tibetan colonists was ejected into free space as a rogue world.
