History & Background[edit]

This district was created as part of the creation of the Regency Frontier

Regency Quarantine District 4 a.k.a. RQD4 runs from the border between the Antra and Namidshur Subsector in the three world line of Orenberg (Deneb 2011), Diiski (Deneb 2111), and Mazirbe (Deneb 2210) to the line from Catacomb (Deneb 2234) to Kamlar (Deneb 1832). The three worlds at the start are considered to be in both RQD3 and RQD4. The two at the end are considered to be in both RQD4 and RQD5. These overlaps prevent gaps from occurring on the seams between districts where forces on each side assume threats are within the neighbouring district's area of responsibility.

The Regency Quarantine District 4 is defended by 183rd Fleet. This fleet was re-purposed from being a Paper-Tiger defending Geniishir Subsector (but having no squadrons of its own) to being a full-fledged defensive fleet based at Usani (Deneb 2225). The communications vessels that support this fleet are maintained at Gaza (Deneb 1615).

The district's greatest disappointment is that the Virus-infected Battleship Kishkii crossed the district at Nusukha (Deneb 2127)[1] in early-1139 before going on to attack Trin in 1139.

No other district has seen as much action or combat than RQD4. With a wide area of responsibility facing the main body of the former Imperium and the Vargr Extents, the district is subjected to frequent Vampire incursions. At the peak of the Quarantine War, fleet units were averaging two or three battles a week against ships ranging from errant small craft to infected former Imperial Dreadnoughts. By 1200, battles might occur once or twice a year for most line units.
