Order of the Empire
The Order of the Empire is one of the three orders of the Knights Ordinary, and is one of the most common Imperial Orders of Knighthood in the Third Imperium. [1] [2] [3]
Description (Specifications)[edit]
The position of Grand Master of the Order of the Empire is held by the Emperor. It is overwhelmingly populated by Ceremonial and Honor Knights, with a minority of Landed Knights. [4]
The Order of the Empire includes only a single rank[5]:
- Knight/Dame of the Empire (K.E. / D.E.)
- » All members are known as Knight of the Empire (K.E.); it recognizes no higher rank. Even the Emperor is "only" a knight of the order, although he is by definition the most senior (his seniority date is that of Arbellatra). [6]
The Order of the Empire is an Unlimited Order in terms of its membership.
The Badge of the Order is Sable, a Pile-reversed, Ermines and Flasks ór. [6]
The Headquarters of the Order are located on Capital. Considered somewhat small and old-fashioned by the standards of the other Orders, it occupies a fortress dating to the time of the Barracks Emperors. It contains the typical archives, dining facilities, and several recreation areas, but also contains an armory, a parade ground, training facilities, and several workshops, unusually for the headquarters of such an order. It has no lodgings for visiting members, all available quarters being used for the staff (who are also members of the Order). [6]

The Order of the Empire is one of the Orders of Knighthood belonging to the Knights Ordinary, a group comprised of three Orders of Knighthood with a common origin that are the most common Imperial Orders of Knighthood in the Third Imperium. It shares seniority with the Order of the Knights Imperial and the Order of the Third Imperium. [7] The creation of the Order of the Empire came about during the Civil War, making its official foundation year uncertain. Arbellatra officially split the Order from the Order of the Third Imperium in 630.
