Description (Specifications)

The Opliaraz are descended from omnivore-scavenger cave dwellers on Ozago (Gvurrdon 3107 C331731-7).

Physiology & Environment (Ecology)

The conditions of Ozago have resulted in sight that spans from Human-visible light to the infrared spectrum. Opliaraz have large black eyes, the pupils being the only part of the eye visible. Their size is small compared to Humans, with an average height of 145cm. They have bat-like ears that can be moved towards sounds. This, coupled with their wide field of vision at 220 degrees, gives them a superior surveillance capability compared to most other sentient races.

History & Background (Dossier)

When the Vargr first contacted them, Opliaraz were hunted for their fur -- even when they had advanced into the iron age. This hunting was stopped some hundred years ago, by a group of resourceful explorers.

Social Organization

Their society is built around the family, which forms a clan.

Technology & Trade (Economy)

The Opliaraz are still xenophobic about outsiders. Those who want to do business in this system should do it through the Aelluengh Mercantile Company, which was the only company the Opliaraz would trade with. The reason for this is that the Aelluengh was owned by the ancestors of those who rescued the Opliaraz from extinction.
