Lamadii has a population between 10,000 and 10 million sophonts, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Ushra Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Lamadii, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world. 20% of the world's population is the Major Race Vargr. During the Long Night this world was named Danshagi.
Astrography and Planetology[edit]
Lamadii is a member of the Andalusia Cluster.
Stellar Data[edit]
Some stellar maps show this world name as Lambda Cygni.[2] Despite the similarity in historical name, Lambda Cygni is not the primary star of the Lamadii system. Although it lies at the correct bearing from Terra (Solomani Rim 1827) the system is at a much farther distance and has the wrong spectral type.
Mainworld Data[edit]
As a result of being originally colonized by Aquans, all cities have been built beneath the sea and the planet specializes in pisciculture. A significant population of Aquans, a Minor Human Race, still resides on this world.
History and Background[edit]
By 1105 a large percentage of the population is Vargr.
The surface of the planet is an untouched wilderness with even the starport being established on a floating artificial island, rather than being built on the land. Safaris into the archipelagos often bring back new undiscovered species even to this day.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Lamadii has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The following languages are among the most commonly used on this world:
- Core Anglic: One of the principal dialects of one of the two official languages of the Third Imperium.
- Göheimsan: A ceremonial language used by the Scanian culture; apparently descended from 22nd Century Terran Hebrew, Arabic, and Russian.
- Gvegh: A common Vargr language family.
- Na: An Aquan sign language.
World Government (G)[edit]
Lamadii is governed by a Representative Democracy where government leadership is by representatives elected by eligible voters. What determines an eligible voter varies. The representatives determine policy, including selecting members of the bureaucracy. There can be referenda, votes by eligible voters on specific subjects.
