Clan Khaukheairl

A major Aslan clan, currently ranked second in the entire Hierate. The Khaukheairl are a founding member of the Tlaukhu and hold a seat on the trans-rift Ya'soisthea council. On the Tlaukhu the Khaukheairl are allied with the Estoieie' and Toaseilwi clans. The clan name is sometimes spelled Khaukeairl.

Culture & Society (Ethnology)

Members of Khaukheairl exhibit their status more than members of Yerlyaruiwo clan. Their manors are impressively large, and their envoy ships are luxurious. Khaukheairl nobility usually insist on every formality, especially those that distinguish rank.

This clan is the leading patron of Aslan art and culture. Much as Imperial nobility might sponsor famous orchestras, theaters, art galleries, and conservatories, the nobility of Khaukheairl support equivalent Hierate institutions. Many of the most widely known artists and art treasures can be found among Khaukheairl clan.

The Khaukheairl once paid a small fortune to the Solomani company ConTech to have them genetically resurrect the extinct Kusyu carnivore, the Ayakhyulr.

Technology & Trade (Commerce)

The Khaukheairl issue the Khaukhi currency; due to the clan's power, this is one of the currencies dominating interstellar trade within the Hierate.

Commercial Holdings: 1116

The clan's Oakhowus corporation directs and coordinates the activities of the clan's trading fleet and has offices throughout the Hierate.

The Khaukheairl were one of the four clans to sign the Peace of Ftahalr.

Vassal clans include the Khtiatiyeea, Ktya'ea, Staau'aukha, Khtasaoa, and Hkekhteea.

Clan Enemies

Historically enemies, the Yerlyaruiwo and Khaukheairl are still outspoken rivals, as a result of ancient disputes. Yet, the apparent enmity is merely superficial. These two actually cooperate more than any other pair of power blocs, in spite of their rhetoric. They have gone to each others' aid on a number of occasions, and frequently intermarry.
