History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Despite its pleasant climate, Khaiai has been set aside for conduct of ritual clan wars. It is controlled by two old and powerful clans, the Khaukheairl and the Hrasua. In -1071 a clan war was declared to determine control of Khaiai, with a representative of the Yerlyaruiwo acting as earleatrais. It was eventually declared that the clan war had been fought so gallantly by both sides that Khaiai should be set aside as hallowed ground for use in future ritual wars -- with both Khaukheairl and Hrasua serving as the honourable custodians of this world.
After more than 2,000 years of history, Khaiai is dotted with monuments of the innumerable ritual wars fought over its surface.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Khaiai has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Population (P)[edit]
Khaiai has population of 600 sophonts (hundreds).
- This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without moderate outside assistance. This may represent a large transient population such as the crew of a fleet of starships, the dwindling remnants of a dying colony, a construction team building a new colony, or an outpost that could evolve into a colony.
World Languages[edit]
- Trokh: The universal language of the modern Aslan monoculture.
- Aslan Languages: Note that some Aslan clans retain obscure or archaic languages for personal use in addition to Trokh.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Khaiai possesses a Technology Level of TL–7.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early video and early satellite communication networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fuel cells, solar energy, and geothermal power sources.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Improved automobiles, hovercraft, and bullet trains.
- Water: Hydrofoils and early triphibians.
- Air: Hang gliders and supersonic jets.
- Space: Deep space probes and interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
World Government (G)[edit]
Khaiai has a Captive Government or Colony. The world is ruled by an external government, there is no self-rule. This is a colony or conquered area. The local government is an oligarchy appointed by, and answerable only to, the external government.
Governance of this world is from from Ktaol.
World Culture[edit]
Each on-world locale is associated with different rules and rituals for the wars held there. Those fought on the Ringing Plains, for example, use only archaic armour and weapons. The Churning Straits are for naval units in Aslan triremes, jet fighters are used over the Ei'aau Desert, and only Tlaukhu clans may battle on the Island of Old Khisa.
